We’re thrilled to share a wonderful review from Annie Musgrove, a talented local artist whose work reflects her deep understanding of landscapes and nature. Trained as a geographer, Annie draws inspiration from meteorology, wind and wave patterns, rock formations, and landscape processes.
Annie regularly exhibits during Somerset Art Weeks and offers commissions of landscapes, as well as oil painting workshops at venues including Salcombe Art Club, Bampton Art Club, the Blackdown Artist Retreat, and Ilminster Arts Centre.
A Smooth and Supportive Process
Annie described working with Nina, our gallery owner, as “very straightforward with excellent communication.” From clear instructions and minimal paperwork to fast responses and helpful advice, she felt supported throughout the process.
One of the things Annie particularly appreciated was the flexibility around collecting unsold work at the end of her exhibition and the longer display period, which meant her pieces had time to be seen without the pressure of a quick turnaround. She also highlighted that payment was prompt and simple, something every artist values.

A Welcoming Gallery for Artists and Visitors
What makes Talent Gallery special, in Annie’s words, is its role as a local hub for creativity:
“It is a local gallery with a wide range of locally made art & craft works. It is becoming the go-to place for buying presents to treat yourself and others.”
She praised the lighting and display, which she said makes the space feel like “a classy gallery without being too intimidating.” Most of all, she recognised Nina’s effort to create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all visitors — and to work hard at promoting the artists through active social media.
Annie’s Advice for Other Artists
As an experienced exhibitor, Annie shared some fantastic tips for artists thinking of showing their work in a gallery:
Make sure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
Double-check your work and frames for quality.
Provide a range of sizes and price points so your art is accessible to more buyers.
Keep pricing realistic and affordable.
Send in a selection of work that hangs well together, rather than a disparate mix.
Use your own social media, website, and mailing list to let people know when and where you’re exhibiting.
Visit the gallery during your exhibition; chat to Nina and check whether you need to refresh or replace pieces.
How We’re Improving
We also value Annie’s suggestions for how we can make the experience even better. She suggested sharing a few photos of the hanging process for social media, and offering artists a short guide on what works well online to help them promote their exhibitions. Both ideas are things we’re excited to develop further.
